WWF INTERPROMOTIONAL DEALS
Alliance: Extreme Championship Wrestling
WWF stars who have visited ECW: Jerry Lawler, Sunny, Darren Drozdov, Brakus, Al Snow, Scorpio, Doug Furnas, Jim Cornette
ECW stars who have visited the WWF: Paul E. Dangerously, The Eliminators, The BWO, Taz, Little Guido, Mikey Whipwreck, Sabu, Rob Van Dam, Chris Candido, The Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, The Dudley Boys, Pablo Marquez (now known as Babu)
Alliance Information: ECW made their first appearance on a WWF PPV at In Your House: Mind Games in September 1996. Paul E. Dangerously, The Sandman and Tommy Dreamer sat in the first row of the PPV and was immediately kicked out after The Sandman spat beer at Savio Vega. Buh Buh Ray Dudley, Perry Saturn and Taz were also on hand for the PPV in the cheap seats. The next night on RAW, Taz and his manager at the time, Bill Alfonso, jumped the guard rail with signs saying "Sabu fears Taz" during a match. Later in the week, Paul E. Dangerously calls the WWFs new Livewire program as Bruce from Conneticut. The hosts, Dok Hendrix, Sunny, and Todd Pettengill soon find out who Bruce really is and as a result, Paul E. vents his anger towards the WWF personalities- claiming that the WWF and Vince McMahon has ripped off ECW blatantly. Paul E. eventually gets hung up on when he tells Todd to "Shut the F up." ECW wouldnt be seen in the WWF for five months. ECWs next angle with the WWF would occur at the live RAW after In Your House: Final Four. After the Rocky Maivia/Leif Cassidy (Al Snow) match, Lawler takes an "ECW Rules" sign from a fan behind him at ringside and issues a challenge to ECW while claming that ECW is a promotion with washed-up WWF exiles and drunken derelicts. Later in the show during the Flash Funk (Scorpio)/Owen Hart match, Paul E. calls up Jerry Lawler at the announce table and retorts Lawlers challenge with an acceptance. The next Monday, live at the Manhattan Center in White Plains, New York, Paul shows up after the Godwinns/New Blackjacks match with the Eliminators. Paul joins the commentators booth, with McMahon and Lawler, for three ECW matches (Stevie Richards vs. Little Guido, Taz vs. Mikey Whipwreck and Tommy Dreamer vs. D-Von Dudley) that took places during different portions of the 2 hour show. At the end of the last ECW match, Lawler and Dangerously almost get in a fight which brings out the entire ECW talent that appeared for the Monday Night RAW to break it up. The next week, at the premier of RAW IS WAR, Lawler and Paul E. engage in a face-to-face confrontation that would signal ECWs last appearance in the WWF until May when Lawler brings in Rob Van Dam from ECW and dubs him "Mr. Monday Night" in which he beats Matt Hardy in his WWF debut in a squash. RVD, however, would not last long in the WWFs latest angle with ECW because of him refusing to job. While the angle between ECW and the WWF had to be modified in the WWF without Van Dam, the WWF angle in ECW was even more interesting than the WWFs angle on RAW. Lawler would make a shocking appearance at the ECW Arena and sided with "ECW sell-outs" Rob Van Dam, Sabu and Bill Alfonso. Jim Cornette would join Lawler for a one shot deal in verbally and physically bashing ECW. The angle got even more interesting in ECW when Taz revealed to the world on ECW TV that Vance McMahon wanted his services. Taz lashed out at McMahon and called him a pussy during that interview. While the WWF angle had no boundaries in ECW, the WWF had to settle for an angle in which ECW stars were actually invited on RAW for matches. In one memorable match between ECWs Chris Candido and the USWAs Brian Christopher, Paul E. (who was at ringside doing commentary) revealed to the world that Christopher was Lawlers son. In blind rage, Lawler stormed out and smacked Paul E. In the last ECW realed match in the WWF, ECWs Sabu faced off against former rival Flash Funk. As usual, Paul E. was at ringside doing commentary for this ECW vs. WWF bout in which he ripped Eric Bischoff and Public Enemy. The match ended in a double count-out and with Sabu storming out into the crowd after failing to smash Funk through the table properly. McMahon was angry at Sabu for his post match fit and Sabu was angry at McMahon for the table and not allowing his mentor, The Shiek, to accompany him to ringside. That was the last straw for the WWF as ECW would never be seen on WWF TV ever again in an angle. While the WWF tried to bring ECW back on TV for another angle, WWF talent coordinator Bruce Prichard (Brother Love) and Paul E. couldnt see eye-to-eye in certain issues. While the angles concerning ECW were dead in the WWF, the alliance weren't. Meanwhile in ECW, the WWF angle continued. Lawler would finish his ECW stay by jobbing to Tommy Dreamer at Hardcore Heaven 97. ECW added more intrigue to the WWF angle by placing announcer Lance Wright in a new role as "Vince McMahons #1 kiss ass." Wright would side with Rob Van Dam and Sabu in a pro WWF stable and would later bring in Brakus to feud with Taz. Other WWF stars such as Al Snow, Doug Furnas, Phil Lafon and Sunny would make brief and long stays with ECW under WWF contracts. It would soon be learned that the WWF/ECW alliance would be for talent exchange. The WWF would let ECW borrow their stars that werent over in an attempt for ECW to turn them into stars. That deal hasn't been used since Al Snow was loaned to ECW in the fall of 1997. Now in 1999, there are no longer talks of a talent agreement. The last few WWF stars that have ventured into ECW have been Taka Michinoku and Papi Chulo while ECW star Super Crazy have worked a few matches on WWF Super Astros. Recently in late 1999 and now 2000, Vic Grimes is in ECW under the same circumstances that Al Snow had during his stint in ECW.
Alliance: Memphis Championship Wrestling
WWF stars who have visited PPW: Jerry Lalwer, Brian Christopher, WWf trainees
Alliance Information: Along with OVW, the WWF is affiliated with another Tennessee promotion in MCW. No longer affiliated with former developmental farm terrortory, Randy Hale's PPW, Jerry Lawler's MCW is now the replacement farm team for numerous WWF developmental stars.
Alliance: Ohio Valley Wrestling
WWF stars who have visited OVW: developmental stars
Alliance Information: OVW is the WWF's AA league for developmental talent. OVW talent has appeared on Shotgun Saturday Night and in dark matches. Jim Cornette over sees all talent as he is instructor for the training camp in Louisville Kentucky.
Alliance: Music City Wrestling
WWF stars who have visited MCW: Al Snow, Jim Cornette, Headbanger Mosh (Chaz)
MCW stars who have visited the WWF: Steven Dunn, Flash Flanagan, Tony Anthony
Alliance Information: With the death of the USWA in the fall of 1997, the WWF started a deal with a new promotion in Music City Wrestling. So far, WWF mid-carders and rookies have been competing in MCW. The WWF, however, has gotten use out of MCW for the alliance. An MCW personality was used to get his ass beat by Steve Austin in a garage on RAW. Steven Dunn and Tony Anthony also wrestled in a dark match on the same RAW. Light heavyweight star Flash Flanagan has gotten a few try outs with the WWF, as well. What makes this alliance more interesting is that both the WWF and MCW are affiliated with the NWA. Recently, Headbanger Mosh held the CW heavyweight title before returning to the WWF as Beaver Cleavage and now Chaz.
Alliance: Pennsylvania Championship Wrestling
WWF stars who have visited PCW: Mankind, Goldust, Jacqueline, Edge, Gangrel, Bart Gunn, Christain Cage, Funkin' Dojo trainees
Alliance Information: Having WWF stars visit PCW has not been new over the past few years. There are many more indy feds out there like BCW who have WWF stars used on a few cards. It's always usually WWF Funking Dojo trainnees, WWF developmental stars like Vic Grimes and Erin O'Grady, WWF mid-carders and rising WWF stars like Edge, Paulo Silva and Gangrel who are used in these indy feds. Rising prospect Christian Cage was reigning champion in PCW but Christian had to vacate the title and leave PCW since his WWF schedule has gotten busier over the spring of 1999.
Alliance: National Wrestling Alliance
WWF stars who have visited the NWA: Barry Windham, Jim Cornette, The New Midnight Express, Marlena, Sunny, Funking Dojo trainees, Tom Prichard, Dory Funk Jr., Steve Williams, Mankind, Goldust
NWA stars who have visited the WWF: Steve Corino, Harley Lewis, Derrick Domino, Reckless Youth, Devon Storm, Ace Darling, Eric Sbraccia
Alliance Information: Basically, the NWA angle is a dead issue in the WWF. Like the ECW alliance, the deal still exists between the two former rivals. The evidence is in contracted WWF stars such as Marlena, Jim Cornette and Barry Windham have appeared regularly in NWA shows. NWA talent, such as Reckless Youth and The Misfits, have received try outs with the WWF. The NWA also has close affiliations in other independent promotions in Music City Wrestling, IWA W*I*N*G, Pro Wrestling Xpress, NWA 2000, NWA Florida, and NWA New Jersey. Many NWA stars also regularly play as cops on WWF shows like RAW and PPVs.
Alliance: World X-Treme Wrestling
WWF stars who have visited WXW: Terri Runnels, The Rock, Gangrel
Alliance Information: A new indy fed on the growing list of WWF affiliated feds, WXW is run by Afa- who has kept close ties with Vince McMahon and the WWF for a number of years. Gangrel, The Rock, and Terri Runnels are among the first WWF superstars to invade WXW when their WWF schedule permits them to.
Alliance: Texas Wrestling Alliance
WWF stars who have visited TWA: Funaki, The Legion of Doom
Alliance Information: The Shawn Michaels owned TWA is likely to see more WWF Funkin' Dojo trainees in the near future. So far, San Antonio resident and Kaientai member Sho Funaki and LOD are the first WWF superstars to appear in the new Texas wrestling fed. Recently in early 2000, a number of HBK's students received dark match try-outs on RAW and Smackdown!
